Worth a Thousand Words
Jubilant Soul Series Book Two
by Stacy Hawkins Adams
Life has always gone Indigo Burns’s way. She’s smart, pretty, and talented, and she knows exactly what she wants. A photography internship at her hometown’s local newspaper is the next step in her well-laid plans for her future. But her long-term goals are put to the test when her boyfriend Brian proposes–two years before he’s supposed to and in front of all the guests at her college graduation party.
Too concerned about his feelings to say no, she heartily agrees, but inside she’s cringing. Indigo knows in her heart that she’s not prepared to sacrifice her dreams to become Brian’s wife–not before she has achieved any of them. Will she find the answers among family and friends in Jubilant, Texas? Or will the picture-perfect life she dreams of be left behind?

The best laid plans…
Being a professional photographer is Indigo Burns lifelong dream, and she is well on her way to making that dream a reality. But when she is diagnosed with a life changing medical issue, and faced with other family crises, Indigo’s dreams are put on hold. Indigo is frustrated to say the least. However these setbacks make Indigo realize that her plans aren’t necessarily her plans, and if they are, it will happen in His time and His way.
Worth a Thousand Words is an excellent read, and one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. One theme that resonates throughout the book is that there is a blessing in both the good and the bad. I was brought to tears as I read this novel. I could feel the pain of each character. I could identify with the way each character responded to the setbacks they endured. My heart was pricked and my faith and hope in God was made even stronger with each page I read.
Stacy Hawkins Adams has quickly become a literary force to be reckoned with in the Christian fiction genre. Each of her works are insightful, timely and deliver a powerful message. Anyone who picks up a copy of this novel is sure to be inspired, encouraged and uplifted.

Ever since I read Speak to My Heart, I’ve connected with Hawkins’ characters and her seamless voice, which contains literary elements without bogging down the plot. Somehow Stacy masters “an easy read” with “relevant cultural and psychological issues” that grab your heart and soul and won’t let go. Now THAT’S a good writer.
Thank you, Renee, for your devotion to books!

Thanks Yasmin!
This does sound good and you reviewed it well. I am a firm believer that there is a blessing in everything…. event the bad stuff and we may not know what the blessing is for awhile, in some cases we may never know the blessing. I see it in my own life, and in others. I think it is an excellent topic and actually has me thinking now about that book I have in my head that some day (SOME DAY) is going to get out there in print.
Sheila, thanks so much for stopping by and supporting the tour and for your kind words about my review. This was an easy book to review. I am a firm believer also that there is a blessing in everything. It may take a while to see it, but it’s definitely there. Reading Worth A Thousand Words definitely put me in a reflective mood and gave me the idea to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard LOL) to talk about this topic also. Not in a book form, but as an inspirational message for my inspirational blog and printed newsletter.
You should get that book in print!
Renee,
Thanks so much for featuring me on your blog. I’m delighted and humbled that you enjoyed the book, and hope that my writing continues to bless you!
All the Best,
Stacy
