Meet LaCricia A’ngelle, author of Girl, Naw!
LaCricia A`ngelle is a licensed Evangelist, writer, and the President and CEO
of His Pen Publishing LLC. A native of Chicago, LaCricia currently resides in Tennessee with her four children. Girl, Naw! is her first novel.
Her writing career began when she was a child writing songs, and short stories. LaCricia has always had a God given gift of putting words together.
As a Christian Fiction author, LaCricia not only writes for entertainment, but she also writes for ministry. Her goal in every piece of written work is to draw someone closer to Christ. The characters face real situations. LaCricia writes so that anyone can read her work and get something out of it, whether they are young or old. When you read a LaCricia A`ngelle original prepare to laugh, cry, pray, and stop to say “hmmm.”
LaCricia, how would you describe yourself.
I am a Novelist, Evangelist and 32 year old mother of four children. I am also the founder and president of His Pen Publishing.
What type of jobs or careers have you worked in the past?
In the past, I have done everything from customer service, to data entry, to my current job in the banking industry.
Who are your favorite authors?
Shelia E. Lipsey, Jacquelin Thomas, Michele Andrea Bowen, and Wanda B. Campbell
What are your favorite books?
I love Christian Fiction with an element of romance. Some of my all time favorite novels are Into Each Life by Shelia E. Lipsey, Soul Journey by Jacquelin Thomas, Holy Ghost Corner by Michele Andrea Bowen, and Illusions by Wanda B. Campbell
When did you begin to realize you wanted to write?
I have been writing in some form since I was a child. I initially wrote songs and poetry. When I was 17, I started writing a non-fiction book on teen pregnancy which I never completed. I am considering adding the non-fiction book to my library of titles in the future.
Tell us about your journey to publication.
After I completed Girl, Naw!, I considered traditional publishing. I queried a few agents and publishers as well. I did a lot of research and weighed the pros and cons of traditional publishing versus independent publishing. In the end, I chose to publish Girl, Naw! independently. I started my own small press in September of 2007, His Pen Publishing.
Are you a full-time writer? If so, describe your day?
I am not currently a full time writer, however I do aspire to write full time.
Antoinette Walker has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Those that know and respect her think she has it all, a wonderful husband, children that thrive in school, and a counseling practice that is growing by leaps and bounds. When hidden things from her past begin to surface, they threaten to destroy everything Antoinette loves. Only God can give her the strength to continue to counsel other women, as she struggles with her own issues of forgiveness. Will her faith be strong enough to help her stand in the midst of opposition?

Lacricia,
Nice interview. How long did it take you to write Girl Naw? Are you working on another project?
From concept to publishing it took a total of three years for me to complete Girl, Naw! This time was not spent consistently writing. During this time I often set my manuscript aside because of fear and insecurity. Girl, Naw! was completed through prayer and perserverence.
I’ve learned that prayer & perseverance are the best and only ways to get things completed, especially in a way that is pleasing to God. And rushing a book to completion is definitely not a good thing.
Glad you enjoyed the interview Rhonda, and thanks for stopping by.
I have read the book and posted a review on Amazon.. Congratulations and much success. Look forward to reading more.
Cilla, it’s good to hear you enjoyed the book. I’m looking forward to reading it. And as always, thanks for stopping by and supporting these tours.
Renee,

Ty
As always Ty, it is truly my pleasure! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to introduce (and be introduced) to new authors.
Lacricia, this is an awesome interview. I feel honored that I am one of your favorite authors. It is certainly something I do not take lightly. God is good and always remember that He has designed your life intricately, perfectly and wonderfully unique. You are definitely highly favored by God. Keep writing what God places on your heart and in your spirit and your words will never come return to you void.
Sheila, thank you for stopping by & supporting the tour. I’m glad you enjoyed the interview.
Lacricia, I wear my Girl Naw! tee shirt proudly and tell people this is a must read book. My CD has been riding with me since I received it. The book was awesome, I waiting on the next one, when is it coming?
Thanks Toni,

Girl, where is my t-shirt and CD?
Wanda, I was wondering the same thing….how can I get a t-shirt & CD? LOL Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting the tour today.
The T-shirts and CD were a promotion I had during the books initial release. I may do them again in the future.
Oh my goodness, I didn’t mean to stir up the pot. I had the honor of meeting Lacricia and hearing her read from Girl Naw! before it was released. She had tee shirt to promote her first novel. The ladies from my local book club and I were so impressed, we called members who were not attending The Faith and Fiction Retreat, telling them about her reading and the book asking if they wanted a book. We placed a group order, a few of us ordered tee’s and the CD’s came a a wonderful surprise when we received the books.
