MEET BERNARD BOULTON
Bernard Boulton has written a story about three men who seek to be whole in
God through the spiritual leadership of a pastor. This gripping story is titled DO YOU WANNA BE MADE WHOLE? Bernard is the pastor of New Mine Creek Church in southern Virginia. He is married to his wife of eighteen years, Vantoria and they are the parents of their son, Bernard Quincy. Bernard’s hobbies include reading, traveling and supporting his hometown team the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lebron James.
Bernard, tell us about yourself.
I am forty two years old. I was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. I now live in south Virginia with my wife of eighteen years. We have a son who is a sophomore in high school. I am a pastor of a church in my eighth year.
What type of jobs or careers have you worked in the past?
I’ve had quite a few jobs as I waited for God to place me in full time ministry. I’ve been in security, sales, telemarketing and construction. While I attended college, I worked for the Postal service.
Who are your favorite authors?
My all time author from childhood is Alex Haley. My favorite current authors are Kendra Norman Bellamy, Vanessa Griggs and Vanessa Miller. My favorite new author is Wanda B. Campbell.
What are your favorite books?
Roots and The Autobiography of Malcolm X. There is plenty of great Christian fiction that I have read several times.
When did you begin to realize you wanted to write?
When I was a little boy. Many times the television shows that I watched would ignite in me the desire to write.
Tell us about your journey to publication.
After I had written Do You Wanna Be Made Whole I was sure that I was going to self publish. I was aware of the stiff competition in the publishing industry and I was interested in being in control of my story. However before I ventured into self publishing I had a friend with a publishing house in Chicago who suggested that I submit my manuscript to that company, which I did. They kept it for six months before deciding that they wouldn’t publish it. After that I regained my focus and prepared the manuscript for self publishing. It has been an exciting journey and I love it!
Are you a full-time writer? If so, describe your day?
No I’m not full time but I manage my own schedule most of the week and so I can set time aside to write.

LOL! Mine is growing also Cilla!
Mr. Boulton’s novel has a very interesting history. To have written it with the intention of self-publishing and then give a traditional publisher a try, only to self-publish is truly a lesson in self-determination.
This book was meant to be released by Bernard. I’m glad that he took the time to do it.
Kudos!
Thanks Joey!
