Buzzin’ about with Carl Weber

Hi Carl! Thank you so much for allowing me to interview you for my site, All the Buzz! I am a HUGE fan of yours, so it is simply a pleasure to learn more about the man behind The Man in 3B, The Choir Director and all of those other novels that kept me intrigued from the very first page and oftentimes pulling an all-nighter just so I could see how the story ends!

First, even though you have been writing for quite a while now, are you surprised at the success of your novels?

Wow, that’s a hard question to answer because it has a yes and no answer. No, I’m not surprised, because my parents always instilled in me that I could do anything I put my mind to, so I have a lot of confidence in my abilities. And yes, because well, writing is by far the hardest form of entertainment because in most cases, it takes a year to write a novel and another year before it’s published. A lot of things can change in a two-year period, so who knows if you’ll even be relevant?

Is there a story that you really want to write, but have not yet, for whatever reason?

I really want to write a James Bond type thriller with a smooth, charismatic African-American lead character. I think that would be so cool if done correctly.

We see so many books with the same plots over and over again. Do you believe every story has been told? Have you taken a tried and true plot and put your own spin on it, or do you strive to come up with something that hasn’t been done yet?

Well, there are a lot of stories that have been told, and it’s fine if they have a new slant, but I try to write about things that haven’t been out there. There is no doubt my style is much different than anyone else’s.

What are three things reader may be surprised to learn about you?

I’m just a regular guy from Queens, New York. I love fishing, pro-wrestling, and travel. Oh, and let’s not forget comic books. I love comic books.

What question would you love to answer that I didn’t ask?

It’s more a statement than a question: I want everyone who has ever picked up a Carl Weber book to know I appreciate you. I know these books are not cheap, but I bust my behind to write the best book for you. Thanks for the support.

What’s next for Carl Weber?

Choir Director 2: Runaway Bride and the Family Business 2. Both are sequels to my most popular books.

Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedule to “chat” with me on All the Buzz. It has been a pleasure and I wish you continued success in all that you do.

Thank you, Renee.
