Tell us about yourself.
I am from Birmingham Alabama. I am a true down south girl. I moved to New Jersey when I got married and unfortunately that marriage did not last. When my husband and I separated I rededicated my life to Christ Jesus. I had come to a point where I was tired of me. I was tired of all the mistakes and bad decisions that I was making. I couldn’t control it and didn’t know how to stop all my wrongs so I went to Jesus and became a committed Christian. Shortly after my rededication I became focused on the calling and began to complete my first published book. After living in New Jersey happily for about three years I lost both jobs, my car, almost everything that I cared for and worked hard for. I became homeless. I moved into a shelter and began to write my most recent book of poems in this book titled LIFE.
What type of jobs or careers have you worked in the past?
I was in Property Management, a form of Real Estate and hospitality.
Who are your favorite authors?
The LORD, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers, Pastor T.D. Jakes.
What are your favorite books?
When did you begin to realize you wanted to write?
I’ve always wanted to write but I was never committed so I was easily distracted. God knew that I was going to be dedicated to his calling because about five years prior to publishing my first book I wrote in my journal that I was going to be an author.
Tell us about your journey to publication.
To publish my second book LIFE was a process. When I decided to self publish this book I was not financially able to commit however I went with a Christian publisher who was willing to work with me and put me on a payment plan. I had to put the publication on hold however once I was able to make those payments I did. And once I made my final payment this book became published.
Are you a full-time writer? If so, describe your day?
I am not a full time writer however I hope to minister the poetry that I have written full time in the near future.
Thank you for this interview. Thank you to your viewers for reading my interview.
LIFE, is a poetry book of 50 poems about my life’s journey as a Christian woman going through one of the most life changing experiences. I began to write this book while being homeless, living in a shelter, and continuing to go through as a woman of God. My book is about overcoming life’s struggles. And God has defined what I went through with the title, LIFE. Keeping that relationship with Jesus.

YOUR PAST IS YOUR PRESENT
don’t bring up what you did
but your present speaks loud and clear
what you use to do is what you do
you haven’t matured
my mom once said
there’s nothing like an old fool
Your Past Is Your Present
singing the same tune
this man hurt you
like the last one did
the tears even fall the same
you have no sympathy here
you haven’t learned a thing
Your Past Is Your Present
confusion and strife
up and through your life
you can’t sit down
your world is crazy
and it’s been that way for years
